Why TikTok links break in chat

TikTok's embed metadata is half-hearted at best: sometimes you get a static thumbnail, often a blank card, and short share links (vm.tiktok.com/…) frequently resolve to an "open in the app" page instead of the video. Discord and Telegram can only render what TikTok serves them, which isn't much.

The fixer-domain trick

Community fixers (fxTikTok's tnktok.com, vxtiktok and friends) fetch the video server-side and serve proper metadata, so the actual video plays inline:

Note the query junk on the original. TikTok share links carry some of the heaviest tracking of any platform. The fixer works with or without it, but you don't want to paste it anywhere.
