Why TikTok links break in chat

TikTok's embed metadata is half-hearted at best: sometimes you get a static thumbnail, often a blank card, and short share links (vm.tiktok.com/…) frequently resolve to an "open in the app" page instead of the video. Discord and Telegram can only render what TikTok serves them — which isn't much.

The fixer-domain trick

Community fixers (fxTikTok's tnktok.com, vxtiktok and friends) fetch the video server-side and serve proper metadata, so the actual video plays inline:
